NAD⁺ (β-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a pyridine dinucleotide coenzyme central to cellular redox reactions and a substrate for sirtuins and PARP enzymes. It is not a peptide, and is supplied as a reference compound for in vitro enzymology and metabolic work. Ships as a lyophilized powder, HPLC-verified at ≥99% purity.

Presentation and storage

Supplied lyophilized in a sealed vial. Store the sealed vial at −20 °C for long-term storage; refrigeration at 2–8 °C is adequate over shorter periods. Keep away from light and moisture.

Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening, so atmospheric moisture does not condense onto the cake. NAD⁺ is hygroscopic and hydrolyses in solution, particularly at alkaline pH — keep the vial sealed and dry, and prepare working solutions shortly before use.

Reconstitution

Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water. Solutions are least stable at alkaline pH, so prepare what you need rather than holding a large reconstituted stock.

  • 500 mg vial in 5 mL diluent gives a 100 mg/mL stock
  • 500 mg vial in 10 mL diluent gives a 50 mg/mL stock
  • 500 mg vial in 20 mL diluent gives a 25 mg/mL stock

How do I reconstitute NAD+?

Add bacteriostatic water slowly down the inner wall of the vial so the stream does not strike the powder directly, then let it dissolve on its own — swirl gently if needed, never shake.
